NORFOLK, Va. – Four runs over the first two innings by #25 Old Dominion fighting off a couple of comeback attempts by #15 Charlotte allowed the Monarchs to pick up an 8-3 victory in Friday afternoon's series-opener.
"We got outplayed in every single facet," began Head Coach Robert Woodard. "It started from the first hitter. I'm acknowledging the fact we didn't play well because Old Dominion forced us to not play well. They made some good swings on some pitches on a very, very windy day. The wind is blowing out for both sides, but they just made more pitches than we did.
