Charlotte, N.C. – The 14th-ranked Charlotte 49ers (14-4-1) suffered their first home loss of the season with a 1-0 setback to third-ranked Kentucky (17-1-1) in the Conference USA Tournament Championship game at Transamerica Field.
"I thought we played really well and energized from the beginning of the game," said Charlotte 49ers head coach . "We forced the goalkeeper to make some incredible saves, we hit the woodwork, and we really put them under a lot of pressure. It was just one of those days where all you can do is deserve to win. I think everyone here can agree that we were the team that deserved to win or at least be tied at the end of regulation but that is soccer.
