UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Sophomore sprinter/jumper Nadia Williams is off to a hot start to the 2017-18 indoor track and field season, claiming victories in two events to lead Central Michigan at the at the season-opening Saginaw Valley State Holiday Open.
The Mount Horeb, Wis. Native won the women’s long jump and the 60-meter dash, the latter in a personal-best 7.55 seconds.
Williams followed that up with a first place in the long jump, winning with an attempt of 5.78 meters. The victory came in impressive fashion, as runner-up Dana Turner of Northwood came in well short of Williams’ mark at 5.
