MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Marcy Weston, one of the iconic names in Central Michigan athletics history, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Women Leaders in College Sports.
Weston, who retired in 2015 after a 42-year career at CMU as a coach and administrator, will be presented the award at the Women Leaders National Convention in Dallas on Oct. 9.
She is the second Chippewa after the late coach/administrator and pioneer Fran Koenig to receive the prestigious honor.
“Fran Koenig received this award and I was honored to have been there for that,” said Weston, for whom the Central Michigan Athletics Hall of Fame is named.
