ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Central Michigan women won eight events and the Chippewa men captured four on Saturday as CMU placed first overall in the Oakland University Golden Grizzly Track and Field Invitational.
The Chippewas finished with 319 combined points to finish atop the team standings. The CMU women had 169 points, the men finished with 150. CMU topped the standings in both genders.
"Clearly what you saw was that when you get some decent weather the student-athletes will perform," CMU director of track and field Mark Guthrie said.
