AKRON, Ohio. — The Central Michigan soccer team looked to be on its way to another victory Thursday night before surrendering three late goals to fall, 3-2, in double overtime to Akron in a Mid-American Conference game at the Zips’ FirstEnegry Stadium.
The Chippewas slip to 13-2-2 overall, 5-2-2 in the MAC. The Zips, who were winless in their last 10 starts, move to 4-9-4, 1-4-4. Six of CMU’s last seven games have gone to extra time. The Chippewas were unbeaten in OT before Thursday’s contest.
