MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Jasmine Harris is not only contributing on the basketball court, but in the community.

The junior guard approached coach Sue Guevara with an idea to help the Flint community during the current water crisis, and the idea took off.

Led by Harris, the CMU basketball family and the Student Athlete Advisory committee will begin collecting cases of water to be delivered to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan at a later date.

“Central Michigan has a large number of students, faculty and administrators who identify as Flint natives and their families are being directly impacted by this crisis,” Harris said.
