MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan women’s basketball team delivered a sweet pre-holiday treat on Monday night in McGuirk Arena, knocking off visiting Illinois in decisive fashion, 82-51.
The win is the Chippewas first against a Big Ten opponent under head coach Sue Guevara since a 75-62 upset of No. 12 Purdue on Dec. 11, 2011 in Mount Pleasant. CMU moves to 8-3 on the year with the victory while Illinois slides to 5-7.
Sophomore Reyna Frost paved the way for CMU, posting a night befitting one of the nation’s top rebounders by pulling down a career-high 21 boards.
