Streak snapped: Chippewas fall to Rockets in OT

It was one of those games which is the equivalent of one of those days.

You know when you leave the house and back into the garbage can spilling its contents onto the street.

Then you get a ticket for that recently broken taillight minutes later before the day further winds itself through a miasma of unforeseen disasters.

On Saturday afternoon the Central Michigan University women’s basketball team had one of those games as it started slowly and never seemed right en route to an 81-79 overtime loss to Toledo.

The defeat snapped the Chippewas’ (17-8, 11-3) eight-game Mid-American Conference winning streak and made the MAC West Division race a whole lot more interesting as Ball State (18-7, 10-4) and Toledo (15-10, 10-4) both moved to within one game of front-running CMU with four regular-season games left on the docket.
