Central Michigan head coach John Bonamego called his team “a work in progress”, but the most important bit of progress might be in terms of the Chippewas’ locker room spirits in comparison to a week ago.
One week after being throttled at home by rival Western Michigan, CMU broke a two-game losing skid as interceptions by both starting cornerbacks helped the hosts secure a 24-21 victory over Ball State Saturday afternoon on homecoming.
Wins, no matter how they come, always lightens the mood.
“Winning always feels good so it was nice to get the ‘W’,” said CMU cornerback Amari Coleman, whose late interception at the goal line clinched the triumph.
