Central Michigan left-handed starting pitcher Tyler Hankins will be sidelined for a "few weeks" with a back injury.
"I don't know yet about the rest of the season but for a few weeks," Hankins said. "It depends how my rehab goes."
A bulging disc injury normally takes about six weeks for recovery. However, it is possible Hankins gets back on the field earlier depending on the severity of his injury.
This season, Hankins is 2-5 with a 4.60 ERA. He has made 12 starts and tossed 58.2 innings of work on the mound.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound lefty has allowed 30 earned runs on 73 hits and 12 walks.
