MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Conference championships aren’t won in the first three games. That’s good news for the Central Michigan softball team.
After a rough 0-3 start to the Mid-American Conference schedule, the Chippewas (13-16 overall) will get a chance to right the ship this weekend as they host Akron (17-15, 1-2) in three-game series at Margo Jonker Stadium.
The teams will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Friday and are slated to play the third game of the series at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Coming off last weekend’s conference sweep at Kent State, CMU coach Margo Jonker is eyeing improvement on all levels from her team.
