The ball will stop bouncing for Central Michigan senior forward John McCarty after the 2017-18 season.
McCarty, however, has his knowledge for life.
“I don’t think professional basketball is on my horizon,” McCarty said. “I’m going to Yale in August, so I’m hoping to work in trauma, ER or some type of surgery. I have to find out once I get out there what field of study I want to go into.”
Since he was young, McCarty always performed well on the court, but more importantly, in the classroom. As a student at Lake Orion High School in Michigan, McCarty earned all A’s, along with taking AP and college courses to prepare for his time at CMU.
