Central Michigan junior guard Marcus Keene broke a 29-year record Tuesday night at McGuirk Arena.
Keene came into the contest versus Buffalo needing 12 points to become the CMU single-season scoring leader in the history of the program, trailing only Dan Majerle who scored a total of 759 points during the 1987-88 season.
With a spinner off the glass in the lane at the 15:16 mark of the second half, Keene surpassed Majerle and became the new standard bearer for points in a season in CMU program history.
It was an awesome moment for Keene and the Chippewas on a night that went sour on the scoreboard as they ultimately fell 99-93 to the Bulls.
