Quarterback Tommy Lazzaro did not practice in the week prior to playing Western Michigan on Oct. 20. Late in the game against the Broncos, he departed due to a leg injury.
The same lower leg injury will keep Lazzaro out for the remainder of the 2018 season, as he was unable to practice in the days leading up to CMU’s Oct. 27 game against Akron.
Backup quarterback Tony Poljan, who also works as a tight end and wide receiver, received the start under center.
Lazzaro took over under center for Poljan in Week 3 against Northern Illinois.
