As the Central Michigan men's basketball team prepares to open the 2017-18 regular season at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at McGuirk Arena, assistant coach Kevin Gamble prepares for his sixth season along the sideline for the Chippewas.

The 10-year NBA veteran has helped develop many former CMU players to the professional level, with the most recent being guards Marcus Keene and Braylon Rayson.

He coached with current CMU head coach Keno Davis at providence for two seasons (2010-2012) before following him to Mount Pleasant in 2012.

Gamble played collegially at the University of Iowa for Tom Davis, Keno Davis’ father, and was a part of the Hawkeyes' 1986-87 run to the Elite Eight after winning 30 games.
