Sean Martens uses weights to help build up strength in his arm after his surgery in the training room on March 18 in the Indoor Activity Center.
After missing his entire sophomore season to ulnar-collateral ligament surgery — also known as Tommy John surgery — right-handed pitcher Sean Martens returned to play this year and has pitched in five games for the Central Michigan baseball team.
On March 10, however, Martens felt some pain once again and learned the nerve fell out of the sling that was used to connect the elbow. The Clarkston native is currently on pills used to rejuvenate the nerve and hopes to return soon.
