The season continues.
On Thursday night the Central Michigan University women’s basketball team plays host to Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis in an opening round WNIT game from McGuirk Arena at 7 p.m.
Over the weekend the Chippewas lost in the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game to Buffalo 73-71 in overtime on a buzzer beater and saw their dreams of playing in the NCAA Tournament dashed in the process.
Despite the disappointment of not making it to the big dance Sue Guevara and company are happy to be hosting a postseason game and happier to competing.
“This is a very special team we have and although we’re disappointed we’re not in the NCAA field we’re still playing for a championship,” said Guevara Wednesday.
