Ostman is Famous Idaho Potato Bowl’s Humanitarian Award winner

He’s still Joey in his hometown. On the football field, he’s a co-captain for Central Michigan and the last person a quarterback wants to see in the backfield. On campus, he’s Joe Ostman, a quiet student with a 3.68 GPA majoring in general management.

Ostman was named the 2017 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Humanitarian Award winner.

“I’ve said it before, Joe is the model student-athlete,” CMU football coach John Bonamego said of Ostman, a senior defensive end. “He’s what you want on and off the field, in the community. He’s got an unbelievable work ethic.
