Next stop Spokane.
After pounding out a 95-78 victory over third-seeded host Ohio State Monday night in a second-round NCAA Tournament the 11th-seeded Central Michigan University women’s basketball team punched its ticket into the ‘Sweet 16.’
The Chippewas won their first-ever NCAA Tournament game Saturday by running past 24th-ranked LSU by a final 78-69 and followed that up with an impressive blowout victory over the 10th-ranked Buckeyes (28-7).
Now the Chippewas (30-4) get sixth-ranked Oregon (32-4) on Saturday in Spokane, WA. Game time will be announced later this week.
On paper Saturday’s ‘Sweet 16’ contest mirrors Monday’s game in that both teams score tons of points.
