COLUMBUS, Ohio – A victory and a school record highlighted the Central Michigan track & field team’s performances on Friday during day one of the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State.
CMU’s Megan O’Neil won the women’s 5,000-meter Showcase, finishing in 16 minutes, 39.95 seconds, while teammate Kylee Dobbelaere broke her own school record in the women’s hammer throw.
Dobbelaere’s best throw measured 194 feet, 1 ¾ inches (59.18 meters), bettering the school mark of 191-1 ½ she set in 2015. She finished fifth in the College/Open Championship division of the event.
