National exposure may help in recruiting

In a matter of two weeks the Central Michigan University women’s basketball program has gone from relative unknown to media darlings.

After winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament title on March 10 the Chippewas have since defeated 24th-ranked LSU and 10th-ranked Ohio State in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, marking the first two NCAA Tournament wins in program history.

In doing so the high-scoring, three-point shooting, up-tempo, high-octane Chippewas have taken the country by storm and are currently enjoying their 15 minutes of fame. In the last week alone Sue Guevara and company have been featured on numerous TV news shows as well as being written up in numerous national publications.
