Anyone with a rooting interest in the tradition-rich rivalry between Central Michigan and Western Michigan has their favorite moments throughout the football series’ long history.
The Broncos might hold a 47-37-2 edge in the overall series, but Chippewas fans will rightfully point out that the record sides 34-29-1 in favor of CMU since Western Michigan joined the Mid-American Conference in 1947.
Four of the last five meetings have been won by WMU including last year’s 41-39 thriller, which marked the highest-scoring game in the 86-game history.
Over the last decade alone, the rivalry has seen plenty of memorable games such as the 31-7 Central Michigan win in 2006 with a driving rain impacting play.
