Central Michigan effectively ended its three-game losing streak Nov. 15 as it downed Ohio at home, becoming bowl eligible in the process.
But becoming bowl eligible does not automatically put a team into a bowl game as teams who have finished 6-6 in previous years have been left out, including the Chippewas in 2013.
The process of making a bowl game is easier than it was a few years back due to the addition of more postseason games, bringing the total to 41 bowl games during the months of December and January.
