The Central Michigan football team has added Deron Irving-Bey as a transfer from the University of Michigan.
Irving-Bey, who is already on campus at CMU, will not be on the field during the 2018 season due to transfer rules. He will start playing for the Chippewas in 2019 with three years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-4, 294-pound defensive lineman took a redshirt during his freshman year at Michigan in the 2017 season.
Now, Irving-Bey will reside in Mount Pleasant as a student-athlete at Central Michigan.
From Southwestern Academy in Flint, Irving-Bey registered 79 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries as a senior.
