MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Throwers Kylee Dobbelaere and Cole Walderzak were named the Most Valuable at the annual Central Michigan Track & Field and Cross Country Awards Banquet.
Dobbelaere received the Don Sazima Award, which goes to the most-valuable member of the women’s team. Walderzak captured the Jim Knapp Award, which goes to the most-valuable member of the men’s team.
It marked the second consecutive year that Walderzak, a senior in 2015-16 from Standish, has earned the Jim Knapp Award. He earned the Male Field Performer at the Meet Award at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships in May after winning both the discus and the hammer throw.
