MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – New chapter with some of the supporting cast stepping into the leading roles.
Still, it’s the same book, the same author.
Coach Keno Davis and his Central Michigan men’s basketball team opened practice this week for the 2016-17 season, and, unlike in any of Davis’ four previous seasons in charge of the program, there is no Chris Fowler and no John Simons.
The Fowler-Simons-Rayshawn Simmons trio, now gone to graduation, accounted for nearly half of the Chippewas’ total points a year ago, and they left a legacy that will resonate for years both on the court and off of it.
