MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan women’s lacrosse team will join the Southern Conference for the 2018 season.
The Chippewas currently are affiliate members of the Atlantic Sun Conference and will begin their second year as a varsity program on Feb. 16 at St. Francis (Pa.).
The ASUN will have 11 members in the 2017 season. Five of those members, including CMU, will join the SoCon beginning in 2018. The sixth member of the SoCon will be Wofford, which is adding the sport in ‘18.
The SoCon will comprise CMU, Furman, Mercer, Detroit Mercy, Delaware State and Wofford.
