Lacrosse loses Atlantic Sun Conference opener at Detroit Mercy 13-8

In its inaugural Atlantic Sun Conference opener, Central Michigan lacrosse fell to Detroit Mercy 13-8 Tuesday.

Head coach Sara Tisdale said she was disappointed with the costly mistakes from her team. The Chippewas had 19 turnovers, received two yellow cards and were 8-16 in clear attempts.

“You can’t clear at 50 percent and win against a team like that,” Tisdale said. “I don’t think they beat us, we beat ourselves.”

Freshman midfielder Riley Huda scored the first goal of the game at 28:42. She led the Chippewas with three goals, scoring two in the first half.
