It was not the start Central Michigan lacrosse wanted to start its season.
The Chippewas were defeated by Marquette 19-7.
“You saw us come out strong,” said CMU head coach Sara Tisdale. “But lack of execution of our game plan and we let momentum get away from us.”
After falling behind 3-0, Central Michigan scored four unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead. Tyra Prince scored the first two goals of the season for the Chippewas.
Marquette then scored five unanswered goals taking an 8-4 lead before Prince scored her hattrick goal to halt the Golden Eagles run.
