Now it matters more.
On Saturday afternoon the Mid-American Conference season officially opens for the Central Michigan University women’s basketball team as it plays host to Kent State at 1 p.m. from McGuirk Arena.
The Chippewas come into the game with a record of 6-5 while the Golden Flashes are 3-7.
In recent years CMU has dominated this matchup as it has won four straight over Kent State dating back to 2012, yet that was then and this is now.
“It’s a new season and everyone is 0-0,” said CMU head coach Sue Guevara of opening the 2016 MAC slate.
