MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Daniel Jipping has been named to the Academic All-America Second Team.
Jipping, a junior from Canton, is a finance major who carries a 3.94 grade point average. The three All-America teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, are comprised of 33 players representing Division I institutions from across the country.
Jipping is the 12th Chippewa to earn Academic All-America honors, and the first since Tyler Stovall was named to the third team in 2008. Stovall, an outfielder, is the only player in program history to earn Academic All-America honors twice.
