When you open the season against the top-ranked team in the country it’s noteworthy.
Add to it the fact that they were only one of 16 teams nationally to be competing in the Preseason WNIT and were picked as the preseason favorites to win the Mid-American Conference regular-season and tournament titles and what you get is a lot of hype and hoopla to live up to and through before even playing a single game.
However, this is the road that the Central Michigan University women’s basketball team has trekked down during the early portions of the 2016-17 season and through six games it’s been a rough go despite the Chippewas’ 4-2 record.
