MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – If the light was wired properly and built with sound materials, it will shine brightly no matter how long between flips of the switch.
That’s the metaphor Central Michigan football coach John Bonamego leans on when he talks about former teammates.
That switch was flipped on Friday when the Chippewas hit the Kelly/Shorts Stadium turf for the first practice of the 2018 season. Former Chippewa Mike Kenealy popped in, unannounced, to the stadium as the Chippewas were getting ready to begin practice.
“I welcome all of our former players to come back at any time,” said Bonamego, who played at CMU from 1983-86.
