MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan women’s team was recognized by the NCAA with its Public Recognition Award for its outstanding academic achievements.
The awards, based on a team’s Academic Progress Rate, go to athletic teams that post multiyear APRs in the top 10 percent of all squads in a given sport. The Chippewas have earned a spot in the top 10 in each of the four seasons since the program’s resurrection in fall, 2014.
The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation, and provides a tangible measure of a team’s academic performance.
