MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Fourteen Central Michigan student-athletes were named a Distinguished Scholar Athlete by the Mid-American Conference for the 2015-16 winter sports season.
Those 14 join a list of 202 representing the 12 MAC institutions, the ‘best of the best’ as selected by faculty athletic representatives at each school.
The Distinguished Scholar Athlete is a second-year award given to student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. Any student-athlete with a 3.20 GPA and participation in at least 50 percent of his or her team’s competitions is automatically named Academic All-MAC in his or her sport.
