CLEVELAND – Central Michigan’s time in Cleveland ended in disastrous fashion.
The fourth-seeded Chippewas lost to No. 12 seed Bowling Green Thursday afternoon in the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals by a count of 62-59, giving an abrupt halt to CMU’s hopes for an automatic NCAA Tournament bid at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
I think what you saw tonight you’ve been seeing all year in our conference,” CMU head coach Keno Davis said. “You see it around the country, is the parity in college basketball and understanding that not only do we have parity in our league, we really have some good teams from top to bottom, and we knew that coming into the conference tournament that anybody could beat anybody and I think you’ve seen that with both early games tonight.
