Fountain of truth: Central Michigan linebacker Malik Fountain 'happy' to be back on football field after life-changing offseason

No one at Central Michigan is happier the start of the football season has arrived and to be part of it than Malik Fountain.

It was only a couple months ago that the Chippewas’ sophomore outside linebacker’s future in football at the school was uncertain, having been suspended indefinitely from the team as an incident at Wayside Central in Mount Pleasant saw him being investigated and later brought to trial on four charges that would be unfounded in trial.

Fountain was found not guilty of all charges – two counts of assault, aggravated assault and jostling – in a trial that wrapped up June 23.
