DETROIT -- More than 500 football youth players from Detroit got a taste of the big-time Wednesday at the Mid-American Conference clinic at Ford Field ahead of the league’s annual Media Day.
The players, ranging in age from 7-12, are members of the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL).
They were invited onto the turf at Ford Field to partake in the 90-minute clinic, during which they participated in drills encompassing all aspects of the game, from passing to receiving to blocking to agility to strength and speed.
The drills were administered and overseen by coaches and student-athletes from all 12 MAC schools, including Central Michigan’s Tony Annese and Cooper Rush.
