MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – It had been a long time between pick-sixes for Tony Annese.
The Central Michigan senior safety returned two interceptions for touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2013. His third came on Saturday in CMU’s 27-24 Mid-American Conference loss to Kent State at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
Annese snatched up the ball, which deflected off a Kent State receiver, just before it hit the turf, gained his balanced and raced down the sideline 28 yards for a touchdown, giving the Chippewas a 24-10 lead with just under 8 minutes remaining in the third quarter.
