MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – When the spotlight shone brightest, Central Michigan’s defense came alive.
The Chippewas stopped a potential game-tying touchdown drive in the final minute Tuesday, holding off Ohio, 27-20, in a Mid-American Conference game at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
CMU broke a three-game losing streak and improved to 6-5. The sixth victory made the Chippewas bowl eligible for the ninth time in the last 11 seasons. CMU is 3-4 in the MAC.
The Chippewas ended Ohio’s win streak at three games, and kept the Bobcats from clinching the MAC East Division title.
