MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – A bounce-back win, and one the Central Michigan football team needed.
Devon Spalding ran for 157 yards and a touchdown and the Chippewas delivered the big plays late on Saturday in downing Ball State, 24-21, before 20,044 on homecoming at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The Chippewas rebounded from a stinging 49-10 home loss to rival Western Michigan last week in improving to 4-2 overall, 1-1 in the Mid-American Conference. Ball State is 3-3, 0-2.
“We have a lot of character in our locker room,” CMU coach John Bonamego said.
