EDINBURG, Texas – The big inning proved to be Central Michigan’s undoing on Saturday as the Chippewa baseball team fell, 6-3, to host Texas-Rio Grande Valley at the Vaqueros’ Al Ogletree Classic at Edinburg Stadium.
CMU (1-2), which split its two games on Friday to open the classic, is scheduled to play Stephen F. Austin on Sunday (noon) in its final game of its season-opening weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Ryan Fish hit a three-run homer to highlight a five-run seventh inning for UTGRV. The big inning upped the Chppewas’ deficit to 6-0.
