End of the Line: Ducks too much for Chippewas in ‘Sweet 16’

SPOKANE, WA. - Central Michigan’s dream season came to an end on Saturday evening as the 11th-seeded Chippewas fell to second-seeded Oregon by a final of 83-69 from the Spokane Arena.

With the loss CMU closes its best season in program history out at 30-5 while the Ducks improve to 33-4. Oregon will play Notre Dame at 9 p.m. Monday night in an ‘Elite Eight’ contest on Spokane.

The Ducks doubled the Chippewas up 24-12 at the end of one quarter and CMU never really got back into the game. A short run in the third quarter cut the deficit to nine, yet a 6-0 Oregon run thwarted that run.
