After an 80-72 win at Northern Illinois on Tuesday night, Central Michigan was looking to build momentum with five games remaining in the regular schedule.
Saturday’s opponent was in-state rival Eastern Michigan which had won three of its last four games. After six ties and six lead changes, a late run by the Eagles propelled them to a 72-67 victory over the Chippewas at McGuirk Arena.
A quick 4-0 start by the road team prompted CMU head coach Keno Davis to take a 30 second timeout. Four baskets from four different players sparked a 10-2 run for the Chippewas first lead of the game.
