DIII hockey advances in MCHC tournament

After losing to Michigan in two regular season games, the Central Michigan Division III men’s hockey team had the last laugh with a 2-0 victory over the Wolverines Saturday night.

This win for the Chippewas gives them a 32-6 record (19-6 Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference) and kicks Michigan out of the MCHC tournament.

Head coach James Cadzow said the team played a solid game across the board against a "tough" Michigan team.

“I’m 100 percent happy with the way we played,” he said. “We played with great structure, poise and discipline. We had some issues, but the boys came up big, especially with killing all of Michigan’s power plays.
