In his first career game for the Central Michigan football team, Devonni Reed is being recognized for his defensive performance against Kentucky.
The redshirt freshman earned the Mid-American Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week honors in the West Division. He recorded a team-high 14 tackles with a fumble recovery which he returned for a 20-yard touchdown.
His touchdown gave CMU a 17-7 lead in the first half, but the team was outscored 28-3 the remainder of the game on the way to a 35-20 loss against the Wildcats.
Reed is a Detroit native who graduate of Belleville High School.
