Deeg signs with Giants, leaves CMU with one year of eligibility remaining

The Central Michigan baseball team lost another key player Thursday as junior pitcher Nick Deeg signed a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants.

Deeg led CMU in strikeouts with 86 in 2016. He ends his career as a Chippewa with a 17-16 record and a 3.71 ERA. He had one year of eligibility remaining.

Earlier this summer, freshman pitcher Grant Wolfram transferred to Davenport University and sophomore shortstop Zach McKinstry signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
