They built it and now they’re earning their proper due.
On Saturday afternoon from Theunissen Stadium two of Central Michigan University’s most recognizable names will be honored prior to the Chippewas’ Mid-American Conference home game versus Kent State.
Former CMU head baseball coaches Dave Keilitz (#34) and Dean Kreiner (#33) will have their respective numbers retired and throw out the pre-game first pitch during a ceremony scheduled to start at 1:45 p.m.
The Keilitz family will also be honored for its decades of contributions to CMU when the field is dedicated in its honor. The field will now be called Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium.
