CMU’s Keene to play in NBA summer league with Wizards

He didn’t get drafted but his dreams of playing in the NBA are still attainable.

Former Central Michigan University standout point guard Marcus Keene signed to play with the Washington Wizards’ summer league team late last week after he didn’t get drafted in Thursday’s NBA Draft.

ESPN’s Chris Haynes first reported the signing following the draft, which lasts two rounds and goes 60-players deep.

Keene averaged 30 points per game for the Chippewas in 2016-17 after transferring in from Youngstown State. The 5-foot-9 guard, who hails from San Antonio, led the nation in scoring and became the first Division I player in two decades to average 30 points per game.
